Product design consulting for Doktor.se

2020-2022

Doktor.se is one of Sweden’s biggest digital healthcare providers offering medical and psychological advice.

Product designer, UX/UI designer, user researcher

The user communicates with medical staff through chat, phone and video calls in the Doktor.se app but can also visit physical Doktor.se-clinics throughout Sweden and Germany (Doktor.de) and on top of that has a platform used by multiple brands in Europe, Africa and South America. The Doktor.se platform consists of a patient facing app, a medical staff app and an admin tool, all of which I worked on. In the end of my consultancy I was responsible for the product design for all six international and domestic customers working with expanding and growing the UX research and product design offering together with Doktor.se's B2B customers.

I was hired as one of two full-time product design consultants to maintain and expand the product portfolio but also to start up the new Design Team at Doktor. During the 1,5 year period I was at Doktor the team has grown to five employed designers and a Product Manager. As an initial goal I was assigned to lead the product design responsibilities for two new international brands based on the Doktor platform - one in South Africa and one in Belgium. They’ve since launched successfully on the Doktor.se platform.

Beyond the product development I initiated internal projects to streamline the design team work. Initiating a design system, organising cross-team communication forming guilds with relevant stakeholders and facilitating recurring meetings with those teams to avoid silos. I initiated a way of cultivating knowledge sharing within the team and contributed with a user research framework and set the standard for how usability testing was run in the product development both for domestic and international products.By successfully introducing and implementing a UX framework for Doktor.se the products have measurably grown in terms of number of users, levels of accessibility, usability and customer satisfaction.
